On a cupboard shelf, the 16 pieces stack into a compact column. The dinner plates are 8.5 inches across, a size that holds a full meal. Bowls and salad plates nest inside them. Mugs sit beside the stack. It serves four and leaves space for a cookbook or a bowl of fruit.
The pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe, the pack states. Stack them two high. Any higher, and the unglazed foot ring leaves a faint ring on the plate below. A quick wipe removes it easily. Two high keeps the stack clean and the glaze unmarked.
