Famiware plates
Ten to ten and a half inches for dinner, eight to eight and a half for salad, sold in sixes. This is the shelf people reach for when a set runs two plates short after a year rather than when they start from nothing.

Famiware plates: what people ask
What people ask before a plate set turns into a box on the doorstep.
What diameter are Famiware dinner plates?
Dinner plates run 10 to 10.5 inches and salad or dessert plates 8 to 8.5. Measure your dishwasher rack before you decide between them: a 10.5-inch plate does not always drop into a slot cut for a 10-inch one, and a buyer here likes everything about her set except that.
Do Famiware plates have a rim or a coupe edge?
Both, depending on the collection. Jupiter, Saturn and Venus carry a rim; the others are coupe, which is to say the curve runs to the edge with no flat lip. A buyer put the case for the rim better than we can: high enough to keep the gravy on the plate, low enough not to fight the dishwasher.
Can you buy Famiware plates on their own, without the set?
Yes. Dinner plates and salad plates are sold in sets of six on their own, which is what people reach for when a set is two plates short after a year rather than when they are starting from nothing.
