Famiware Milkyway Butter Dish with Lid

Where the serving platters in the Milkyway line are wide and open, this butter dish is narrow and covered. The lid fits flat and secure, meant to protect a block of butter on the table. The dish itself is shallow, just deep enough to hold the butter and let a knife slide under.

The unglazed foot ring leaves a pale ring on a plate stacked beneath it. Stacking more than two pieces is not recommended; the weight above a covered dish is tricky.
