Nebula Ceramic Soy Sauce Dish, 8-piece: the description
Eight dishes, one for each place setting. When a ninth person sits down, you pull a small ramekin from another shelf, because these hold exactly one meal’s dipping. Each is four ounces, a single portion of soy sauce or vinegar, and it sits beside the plate, not on it.
The dish is stoneware with a reactive glaze, dense and heavy in the hand. It is safe in the dishwasher and microwave, so it moves from table to wash without thought. Stoneware chips at the rim when knocked, but on a dish this small the chip is cosmetic, not a crack through the body.
