The matte dark charcoal glaze is a double reactive finish: it gathers darker in the well and thins to a paler gray at the rim, where the raw clay shows through.

Bare clay rings the base, left unglazed so the bowl parts from the kiln shelf. The glaze is dishwasher safe, and the bowl goes into the microwave without concern. On a table the foot grips well.
