The glaze gathers darker in the well of each plate, then thins to a pale rim where the clay shows through. The stoneware body is dense and heavy in the hand. The set covers six place settings with dinner plates, salad plates, and bowls. Eighteen pieces in all, with two glaze finishes to choose from.

The pack says it is dishwasher and microwave safe. The foot ring is unglazed, so it will mark a plate stacked beneath it. Stack them no more than two high. The rim will chip if knocked against a hard edge, and the chip shows pale clay beneath.
