This twelve-piece set sits between the two-person and six-person services in the Venus line. The four dinner plates and four bowls cover a weeknight dinner or a small gathering. The plates are wide enough for a full meal, and the bowls hold a full serving of soup or pasta. The speckled glaze catches the light differently on each piece.

The stoneware is dense and heavy, so plates stay put on the table and bowls sit solid in the hand. Stack plates two high to keep the base of the upper plate from marking the one below. A chip at the rim exposes the pale clay underneath, but that is the nature of fired stoneware. Use it daily, microwave it, put it in the dishwasher. This set is meant to be used, not saved.
