Famiware Venus coffee mugs

These mugs hold what matters at the table: a first pour of coffee that you sip slowly, a second refill that arrives while you read, a small bowl of broth carried from stove to chair. The stoneware body is fired until it vitrifies, so the mug keeps heat and feels weighty in the hand. The double reactive glaze pools darker at the rim and speckles through the field. That pool shows where the drink meets ceramic. No two rims match.

Set a mug down and the unglazed foot ring tells the story. Slide a fingertip beneath the base and you feel exposed clay where the glaze was left off so the piece could release from the kiln. That raw ring grips wood or ceramic and will leave a faint grey circle on a saucer beneath it. If you plan to stack dinnerware, protect the lowest plate with a thin felt or paper round.
