The mug sits heavy in one hand. That weight comes from stoneware fired until the clay vitrifies. The body is dense, non-porous, and a full mug feels balanced. It does not tip, and the coffee stays hot longer than it would in a thinner cup. You notice it every time you lift the mug.
Between any two mugs in this set, the glaze differs noticeably. The tones shift, the surface varies. If a mug breaks and you replace it with a single piece from a later batch, the new mug will not match the others. The difference is visible, not a flaw but a result of the glaze process.
