Famiware Mercury 24-Piece Stoneware Dinnerware Set

The weight of a dinner plate in one hand tells you this is stoneware. The body is dense, fired hard, with nothing hollow inside. The matte glaze sits quiet on the surface; it does not shine. That heft is simply what happens when clay is taken to a high temperature and left there long enough.

Eight settings come in the box, twenty-four pieces total. That works out to a plate, a salad plate, and a bowl for each person. Enough to set a table without pulling from different stacks. The set is available in five matte glazes, and because the glaze moves in the kiln, no two pieces are identical. Stack them two high; the unglazed ring on the foot will mark the glazed surface underneath.
