The Nebula glaze is speckled, but a photograph cannot tell you the weight. These are dense stoneware pieces, substantial in the hand. The pasta bowls sit wide and shallow, with a rim you can hold securely. Two glaze colors are available, and each piece carries its own variation.
The trade-off is in the material. Stoneware this hard chips when it meets a counter edge. And it stacks best at two plates high; beyond that, the glaze can mark the piece below. The weight is part of the experience, and part of what you learn to handle.
