A dinner plate from the Nebula set lands on a wooden table with a solid, low thud. The weight is reassuring, the speckled surface cool under your hand. 14 pieces in the box, enough to serve 12. Two glazes to choose from, each with a different cast. The bowl that follows makes the same sound.
The trade-off is in the weight and the fragility. Stoneware rings when struck, and a rim clinked against a metal utensil can chip. The pieces ask you to stack them low, no more than two high, and to handle the edges with care. The dishwasher is safe, but the cycle is hard on the rims. The reward is a table that sounds and feels substantial.
