Serving Platters, set of 2: the description

A photograph of the pair shows two platters, but it cannot tell you how different they feel in use. The larger platter, at 48 inches, is not something you pull out for Tuesday dinner. It requires a strong grip to carry. It occupies most of a table. The smaller one is 14.09 inches, the size you reach for to bring a roast chicken to the table or to layer a dessert.

The larger platter is a challenge to store. It will not fit in a standard cupboard. It may lean against a wall or stay in a low drawer. Both platters are stoneware, dense and heavy in the hand. A sudden knock at the rim can leave a pale chip, so handle them with care. They tolerate dishwasher cycles and microwave heating without change.
