Serving Platters, set of 3: the description

Lift one of these platters and the weight tells you what it is made from. Stoneware fired until the body vitrifies: dense, heavy, non-absorbent. The set of three spans from 8.62 to 15.67 inches across, and it comes in a single glaze. That weight is a consequence of the clay itself, not of extra thickness. The smallest sits comfortably in one hand. The largest needs two.

The largest platter holds a whole roast or a fish. The smallest serves lemons or bread rolls. The middle one is for vegetables or a pie. They wash in the dishwasher and go into the microwave, the pack states. For storage, they nest together, taking up less shelf space than a single large board.
