This set stops at the two plates you use every night: a dinner plate and a salad plate for each of six places. It skips the bowls and bread plates that fill out a larger service. The 10.5-inch dinner plate holds a main and a side without crowding. The 8-inch salad plate is wide enough for a sandwich or a small pasta bowl. Both are dense stoneware that sits solid in the hand.
