Set your hand under the rim and lift. The glaze gathers there, darker and thicker where the liquid hung and cooled. Tiny iron specks show like a softened constellation, concentrated where the glaze flowed and thinned where it was stretched. Each rim records the motion of the glaze, a topography you can read with a fingertip. Because the glaze is reactive, every plate carries its own pattern. Some pair easily. Some do not.
