The one thing a photograph cannot capture is the quiet heft of these cups. Each one is a dense stoneware cylinder that warms quickly in the palm, and the saucer beneath it sits solid and still. The set of four lives in the hand as much as on the table.
They are safe in the dishwasher and microwave, according to the pack. Stack them two high on the saucer — the unglazed foot ring will leave a pale mark on the glaze underneath, which is normal. More than that and the weight risks a chip at the rim.
