A photograph cannot tell you the weight of this stoneware. The plates are dense, fired until the body vitrifies. Each piece sits heavy in the hand. A dinner plate meets the table with a low, certain sound. The square shape is not a visual trick; it changes the geometry of a place setting.

Square plates eat into the table surface. A four-person set takes up more real estate than a round set of the same count. The espresso cups are small, their saucers neat, and the set asks you to be deliberate about where everything goes. Stoneware chips at the rim, and the square corners are especially vulnerable. You cannot stack more than two high without worrying the glaze.
