The set for four has fewer pieces than the larger one, but the plates and bowls are the same size. You get the same dinner plates, salad plates, and bowls that the larger set uses, just less of each. That means the same feel when you set a plate down, the same weight in your hand, the same rim.

This is a set for the weeknight meal. The bowls are deep enough for pasta or soup, the plates flat enough for a piece of fish and a side. The stoneware is dense and heavy, and it stays warm after the microwave. You can stack them two high, but no more. The pack says dishwasher and microwave safe, so it works for the rush.
