Star Dinner Plates for 6: the description

The glaze settles deeper in the center of each plate, the clay showing lighter at the rim. At 10 inches across, these plates take a full dinner portion without crowding the table. A roast chicken and two sides fit without the gravy running into the vegetables. Six plates in the box, one for each place.

We use a stoneware body fired hot enough that the plate rings when you set it down. The pack says these go in the dishwasher and microwave, and they do. The rim is the vulnerable edge, as it is on any ceramic plate. Keep the stack to two plates high to avoid the foot ring of the one above marking the glazed surface underneath.
