Pick one up. The weight in your hand is a consequence of stoneware fired until the body vitrifies. Each 4 oz bowl, 7.5 inches across, is dense and heavy. That weight keeps the bowl steady on the table and holds the heat in the food longer.
Twelve bowls in a set, serving four people. Each is wide enough for a portion of pasta or a side salad, shallow enough to stack two high. The Star collection offers three glazes. They are microwave and dishwasher safe, so the weight does not complicate cleaning.
