The Star set is microwave and dishwasher safe, per the pack. That means you can reheat leftovers and load the plates into the machine without worrying about the glaze or the stoneware. The embossed surface adds a little texture to the rim, but it does not interfere with stacking.

If you regularly serve dinner to six or eight, consider a larger set from the Star collection. The 4-piece set works well for a couple or a small family, but for bigger tables you will want enough matching plates and bowls to go around.
