The box holds six salad plates and six dipping bowls. Each plate is large enough for a side salad or a slice of bread. Each bowl fits a few spoonfuls of sauce, a dip, or olives.

The matte glaze gives the stoneware a soft, dry surface that feels right in the hand. The plates sit solid on the table; the bowls are heavy enough not to slide. Stack the plates two high to save shelf space – the bowls nest without wobbling.
